Virgin visit to Kestrel

Mark and myself (Shorty) are booked into the new Mousehole "Kestrel" specimen lake for our first 24 hour session on Saturday.

The weather is predicted to be colder than preferred or expected with a low of -1 degrees Celsius and a high of 5 degrees Celsius and is also expected to be overcast.

This could be hard going although there some fish have been landed already which has been added to the catch report;

The lastest and almost biggest being a 23lb 12oz mirror.

I will update this post after arrival and setting up and create a new post through the day as necessary.

CADAC

Upon arrival the lake looks daunting but pleasant! The lake bottom appears to be almost completely gravel with a few features (humps and bumps) found at the far end.

The weather is 9 degrees Celsius and raining fairly heavily with no change expected.

Bivvy up, Supa brolly set up and rods out;
Rod 1: Carp company caviar and cranberry dumbells.
Rod 2: Method mix and 10mm cream and nut boilie.
Rod 3: CC Moore live system and complimenting stick mix.

CADAC Water

I've managed to agree with Nic to pick him up at 8am sharp on Friday 8th March to fish the CADAC lake.

I'll be taking my three carp rods but also be taking my trusty Abu Transmitter (float rod) for a spot roach and bream fishing.  That might be short lived as I believe there is quite a collection of Eels (yuck)! That said, I have done little float fishing over the last year so am looking forward to it!

Mark has been kind enough to provide some survey reference data which I have added below.  That and advice from the resident bailiff will be the summation of information I have of the lake.

I will open a separate post during my fish there including actual lake footage, weather details and a catch report as necessary.
